Istanbul, Türkiye
A balanced Istanbul itinerary linking Sultanahmet, the palace district, the Golden Horn and Kadıköy with realistic walking and ferry time.
Day 1
Arrive early and follow the current cultural-visitor entrance; access can pause around prayers, ceremonies or heavy crowds.
Visit respectfully between prayer periods, then walk the former Hippodrome instead of adding another long queue.
Use a timed ticket where available, then keep the late afternoon open for the smaller streets and a relaxed meal.
Day 2
Allow a full morning for the palace and Harem; confirm current hours and remember that the palace is normally closed on Tuesdays.
Exit through Gülhane, pause in the park and continue downhill to Sirkeci without rushing to the next stop.
Browse the bazaar, taste a few local specialties and cross the lower level of Galata Bridge toward Karaköy.
Day 3
Start around Galata before the busiest period, then descend through the side streets to Karaköy for coffee and lunch.
Take a public ferry across the Bosphorus and explore Kadıköy Market at a local pace rather than treating the crossing as transport only.
Walk or take the heritage tram toward Moda and finish by the waterfront with enough time for the return ferry.
