Acropolis and Parthenon
Book a timed entry on the official Acropolis e-ticket site for an early morning slot—summer heat and cruise-ship crowds peak later. This is your only big ticket this morning; do not stack another major sight before lunch.

Athens, Greece
A first-time Athens route grouping the Acropolis slope with its museum, the Ancient Agora with Monastiraki and Psyrri, then Olympian Zeus, Syntagma’s gardens and Lycabettus—one major timed ticket per morning and flexible dinner blocks.
Day 1
Book a timed entry on the official Acropolis e-ticket site for an early morning slot—summer heat and cruise-ship crowds peak later. This is your only big ticket this morning; do not stack another major sight before lunch.
Walk downhill to the Acropolis Museum on Dionysiou Areopagitou. The galleries pair naturally with the hill you just climbed and keep you in the same historic pocket.
Drift through Plaka’s alleys and the whitewashed steps of Anafiotika. Keep the evening flexible for taverna dinner, views and rest rather than another timed reservation.
Day 2
Start at the Ancient Agora while the light is good on the Temple of Hephaestus. Combine ticket with the wider archaeological pass if you are visiting several sites—still only one dense ruin block this morning.
Cross into Monastiraki for Avissynias Square, vintage stalls and the metro-level bustle. Stay on foot in the old town instead of metro-hopping across Athens.
Finish in Psyrri’s graffiti-lined lanes for meze and casual dinner. Leave plans open for weather and energy—no second museum tonight.
Day 3
See the Olympieion columns, then walk through the National Garden toward Syntagma. This block stays in central Athens without a long trek to another ticketed hill.
Climb toward Kolonaki for cafés, bookshops and a slower pace after the ruins. Use it as a reset before the sunset push.
Head up Lycabettus by footpath or funicular for the classic city panorama at dusk. Keep dinner flexible on the way down—queues and wind can shift timing.
